PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Project Overview In 2025, a leading textile dyeing and printing factory in Kabul, Afghanistan, selected AIX Boiler to supply a complete heating solution for their high-volume fabric processing line. The factory specializes in cotton and polyester dyeing, printing, and finishing, requiring reliable, high-temperature steam and thermal oil for critical processes including scouring, bleaching, dyeing vats, stentering, heat-setting, and drying chambers.

After detailed technical evaluation and site assessment (via video call and local partner coordination), the client placed an order for:

  • 1 × 15 TPH SZL Double-Drum Chain Grate Coal-Fired Steam Boiler
    • Rated evaporation: 15 t/h (saturated steam at 1.25 MPa / 13 bar)
    • Designed fuel: local Afghan bituminous coal (calorific value ~5,200 kcal/kg)
    • Efficiency: ≥84% (with economizer and air pre-heater)
    • Key features: double-drum water-tube design, wide coal adaptability, automatic chain grate, low-NOx staged combustion, baghouse dust collector for emission compliance
  • 1 × 4 Million kcal/h (≈4.65 MW) Coal-Fired Thermal Oil Boiler
    • Rated thermal power: 4,000,000 kcal/h
    • Max. working temperature: 320°C
    • Designed fuel: same local coal as above
    • Key features: three-pass coil structure, forced circulation, high-temperature safety valves, expansion tank, energy-saving economizer

Project Purpose & Application

  • 15 TPH SZL Steam Boiler: Supplies saturated steam to:
    • Dyeing vats and jiggers (high-temperature dyeing at 130–140°C)
    • Mercerizing and scouring lines
    • Steam agers and curing ovens
    • Boiler provides stable pressure and large steam volume to support continuous multi-shift operation.
  • 4 Million kcal/h Thermal Oil Boiler: Provides high-temperature heat transfer oil to:
    • Stenter frames and heat-setting machines (180–220°C for polyester fixation)
    • Calendar rolls and drying cylinders
    • Hot oil heating coils in drying chambers
    • Ensures uniform temperature across wide fabric widths, preventing color migration and improving fabric hand feel.

Why the Client Chose AIX Boiler

  • Proven reliability in high-dust, variable coal quality environments (common in Afghanistan)
  • Competitive pricing combined with A-grade quality certification (China Special Equipment Manufacturing License)
  • Full turnkey support: detailed drawings, local installation guidance, operator training, and 24/7 remote technical assistance
  • Compliance with local environmental requirements (bag filter + low-NOx burner achieved particulate <50 mg/Nm³, NOx <300 mg/Nm³)
  • Fast delivery commitment (factory production + sea freight to Karachi port + overland transport to Kabul)

Project Timeline

  • Order confirmation: Q2 2025
  • Manufacturing & testing: 90 days at AIX Boiler’s Taikang factory
  • Delivery & site arrival: Q4 2025
  • Installation & commissioning: Q1 2026 (supervised by AIX engineers)
  • Full commercial operation: March 2026

Client Feedback (Post-Commissioning Summary) “The 15 TPH SZL steam boiler runs stably with our local coal, and the thermal oil system gives perfect temperature uniformity on our stenter. AIX Boiler’s after-sales support has been excellent — quick response even from China. Highly recommend for textile factories in our region.”

This project exemplifies AIX Boiler’s capability to deliver robust, coal-adapted heating solutions tailored to challenging markets like Afghanistan, helping clients achieve high productivity with controlled costs and emissions.

Why choose AIX Boiler?

  • Achieves thermal efficiency of 84% or higher through its double-drum water-tube design, large furnace volume, energy-saving arch, economizer, and air pre-heater, reducing coal consumption by 10–15% compared to traditional single-drum models. (
  • Offers excellent fuel adaptability with a wide chain grate, layered feeding, and zoned air supply, easily handling local Afghan bituminous coal (4,500–6,000 kcal/kg) with minimal coking, slagging, or operational issues.
  • Delivers stable output and superior steam quality thanks to large water capacity and efficient steam-water separation, ensuring carryover ≤0.5%, high dryness, and minimal pressure fluctuations ideal for continuous textile dyeing processes.
  • Provides strong environmental compliance and low maintenance with low-NOx combustion and baghouse dust collector, plus a simple grate structure and automatic ash removal for cost-effective long-term operation.
